“Let him who has ears Hear.” Matthew 13:19
The Great Gift of God: The Holy Eucharist
In this episode Brother Matthew reviews Father Leonard Feeney’s Bread of Life, which declares the Holy Eucharist as God’s greatest gift to man. In the Old Testament, the Ark of the Covenant held the stone tablets of the law, the preserved manna, and the rod of Aaron, all types pointing to the blessed Eucharist. The real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist surpasses these signs, for it is not God’s writing or food from heaven, but His body, blood, soul, and divinity. At the consecration, the substance of bread ceases to be, and Jesus becomes truly present, adored with both spirit and flesh. If you do not believe that the greatest gift God ever gave us was his flesh and blood to eat, the great central mystery of Christianity has escaped you.
The Eucharist is the real presence to adore and holy communion to receive. In the sacrifice of the Mass, God gives Himself to God, and the priest offers the true Lamb of God. The Catholic Church safeguards this mystery with reverence, challenging the world with its clear witness of divine love. Flesh and blood kneel before the tabernacle, offering adoration in silence at the solemn moment of consecration. This reality is the wonder of the world and the foundation of faith, calling each soul to acknowledge God, to believe, and to live as children of God in truth.
