“Let him who has ears Hear.” Matthew 13:19
The Mission of the Holy Ghost
This week on From the Housetops, Brother Matthew reflects on the mystery of Pentecost and the descent of the Holy Ghost upon the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Apostles. Drawing from Hamon’s Meditations, he explains that the Holy Ghost came to remain always with the Church, preserving her in truth, sanctifying souls, and filling the faithful with the spirit of charity and divine adoption. Pentecost reveals the true spirit of Christianity: a life founded on love, through which the Holy Ghost forms Jesus Christ within souls.
Brother Matthew also presents reflections from Father Leonard Feeney on the first Pentecost and the Third Glorious Mystery of the Rosary. Gathered with Our Lady in the Cenacle, the Apostles persevered in prayer before receiving the gift of tongues and going forth to preach the Catholic faith with zeal and courage. Mary, Queen of Apostles and Mother of the Church, stands at the center of this mission, guiding souls to Christ through the power of the Holy Ghost. Listen to this episode of From the Housetops and discover how Pentecost transforms the soul and strengthens the Church to remain faithful to the truth.
