“Let him who has ears Hear.” Matthew 13:19

Feed My Sheep

This week on From the Housetops, Brother Matthew reflects on Jesus’ third appearance to His disciples after the Resurrection, by the Sea of Galilee. After a fruitless night of fishing, the disciples obey a stranger’s call to cast their net—and haul in a miraculous catch. John recognizes the Lord, and Peter rushes to Him. Jesus welcomes them with a meal and lovingly tends to their needs.

In a profound exchange, Christ asks Peter three times, “Simon son of John dost thou love me”—restoring him after his denials and entrusting him with the care of His Church: “Feed my sheep.” Brother Matthew explores how this moment confirms Peter’s role as head of the Church and reminds us of God’s mercy, mission, and call to faithful leadership.

The episode then explores the meaning of the Paschal Lamb, fulfilled in Jesus Christ. From ancient sacrifices to the Cross, Christ is revealed as the divine Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. His blood redeems us, His love invites us, and His Resurrection assures us of the joy to come.

“...and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye from the housetops.” Matthew 10:27
