“Let him who has ears Hear.” Matthew 13:19

Hail, True Body of The Savior, Corpus Christi

On this edition of From the Housetops, Brother Matthew reflects on the beauty and depth of the Feast of Corpus Christi, guided by the writings of Abbot Guéranger. The Church rejoices on this feast, carrying the Bread of Life beyond the walls of her churches in joyful procession, reminding us that in the Eucharist, both the humanity and divinity of Jesus are truly present as His Body and Blood under the sacramental species of bread and wine. In this sacred mystery, we, the faithful, adore and proclaim Him as our King and Redeemer, and in this way, the Eucharist stands at the center of Christian life, fulfilling Christ’s promise to remain with us until the end of time.

Brother Matthew also highlights Saint Paul’s solemn warning to receive the Body and Blood of Christ with reverence, urging us to approach the Holy Table with prepared hearts. Through the words of the Gospel of Saint John, we are reminded that Jesus is the true Bread from Heaven, giving life to those who partake of Him. This sacred mystery unites us with Christ and offers the promise of eternal life. Join Brother Matthew in this inspiring meditation on the Eucharist’s power, its call to holiness, and the hope it offers to all believers.
