HERE IS YOUR SALVATION!

He that eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, abides in Me, and I in him. (John, 6:57)
One day Saint Thomas of Villanova was summoned to the deathbed of a Jewish convert. The holy bishop wondered why he was called, as the man had already received the Last Sacraments. The dying man explained, that there was something in his past life he felt he should tell before he died. He related, that when he was a student at the university, he and another young Hebrew friend were out walking along the fields one afternoon. They began discoursing intently on the question of whether the Messias had already come or was He still to appear on earth? They were both sincere in their quest, and pleaded fervently with God to send them light so they would see the truth. Suddenly there was a luminous rift in the clouds. In the midst of it they plainly saw a chalice surmounted by a host, and they heard a voice which said, “Here is your salvation!” “With the light above,” he continued, “there rose in my mind a brighter light which dispelled every doubt. I became a Catholic and have never had a doubt about my holy Faith since. The chalice and the host have been my salvation.”
