“Let him who has ears Hear.” Matthew 13:19
Matrimony is Sacred
This Week on From The Housetops Brother Matthew remembers that Christ raised matrimony to a sacrament, making sacred the union of husband and wife established at creation when God gave Eve to Adam. In marriage, human procreative powers are blessed and protected, reserved solely for spouses to bring forth life to which God gives an immortal soul. Christian morality forbids the use of these powers outside marriage and has always opposed the lasciviousness of pagan cultures marked by promiscuity and sodomy. Yet some bishops claim that scripture on sodomy is outdated and irrelevant to modern same-sex relationships, but such assertions contradict divine revelation and the constant teaching of the church.
Scripture testifies clearly to the truth. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the warnings of the prophets, the words of Christ, and the writings of the apostles all affirm that unnatural lust remains gravely sinful and leads to judgment. These events stand as historical fact and enduring moral lesson for every generation. Let us reject false claims, remain steadfast in faith, and live according to God’s word, firmly believing all that the holy Catholic Church teaches and proclaims.
