“Let him who has ears Hear.” Matthew 13:19
The Glorious Feast of Easter
This week on From the Housetops, Brother Matthew invites us to enter into the joy of Eastertide, the season that celebrates Christ’s Resurrection, His Ascension, and the coming of the Holy Ghost. The Church reflects this joy in her liturgy with the return of the Alleluia and the Paschal candle as a sign of Our Lord’s presence. On the third day, as He had foretold, Christ rose from the dead. The holy women found the tomb empty, and an angel announced that He was risen. Though the guards witnessed these events, the chief priests attempted to conceal the truth, yet the Resurrection fulfilled the prophecies and stands as the greatest of all miracles, proving Christ’s victory over sin and death.
Brother Matthew also reflects on the appearances of the risen Christ, beginning with Mary Magdalene and the apostles, who found the empty tomb and came to believe. The Resurrection is the cornerstone of our faith and the pledge of our own future resurrection. By His divine power, Christ triumphed over death and opened the way to eternal life. Listen to this episode of From the Housetops and enter more deeply into the joy and hope of the Resurrection.
