“Let him who has ears Hear.” Matthew 13:19

The Guarded Tomb and Christ's Resurrection

This week on From the Housetops, Brother Matthew reflects on the events of Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. After Jesus was placed in the tomb, His enemies, fearing His prophecy, sealed it and set guards to prevent any claims of resurrection. But early on the first day of the week, an angel appeared, the stone was rolled away, and the tomb was empty. The holy women arrived with spices, only to be told the joyful news: “He is not here, but He has risen.”

Through the astonishment of the women, the fear of the guards, and the disbelief of the chief priests, Brother Matthew shows how the Resurrection confirmed Christ’s divinity and fulfilled prophecy. This episode is a powerful reminder of God’s victory over death and the unshakable hope we have in His promises.

“...and that which you hear in the ear, preach ye from the housetops.” Matthew 10:27
